I know my marriage was strengthened as well as my walk with God. So go ahead you "God Chicks"...make plans to go with us next summer!

Whatever-it-takes Chick

So we met for our last BTB Social for this school year last night. I totally love my coaches' wives. Joyce's campanese and Julianna's cheesecake were delicious. We hoped to see Sara and the baby...and were sad to hear that she and Gray will be moving to Florida, so she will not be with us next year. We missed Carrie, who is on a much needed vacation, and Emily, who was celebrating her birthday with her sweet husband. We encouraged each other to love God, love our husband, and love others. We shared many laughs, caught up on the lattest "brags," and gave many hugs to last until we meet again in August!

So rise up you God Chicks! Do whatever it takes to be the God chick you were designed to be. Read a book when you feel like sleeping, send an encouraging card when you'd rather be shopping, stay in your marriage when you want to leave, love others when you are angry, forgive when it is easier to be mad, press on when you feel like quitting. You can do it!

Princess Chick

Another great BTB Social! I've been talking about it non-stop. Thank you Nancy and Suzanne for decorating in such a lovely princess way. Also, to each of you who brought food, it was all delicious. I thought it would be fun to post what you shared in response to the question...

"Who is Your Favorite Princess...and Why?"

Joyce: Princess Lea from Star Wars because she was as tough as all of the guys. She got in there and fought with them.

Judy: My grandaughter, Annie. Out of all of our grandchildren, she is the only girl, and I have truly enjoyed her. She loves dressing up and playing princess.

Sara: I could tell you my favorite WWF wrestler...but not a princess. However, if I must choose, it would be Princess Diana. I was just enamored by her life.

Katie: Cinderella. I identify with all of the WORK, WORK, WORK that she had to do.

Nancy: Cinderella. When I was 2, I got lost at Disney World and Cinderella found me. When my mom finally found me, I was sitting in a room at a table eating with Cinderlla. As I've gotten older I llike that Cinderella kept singing despite the opression she was living in. She stayed submissive while maintaining happiness.

Shelly: Cinderella. She is pretty and sweet and has a zest for life.

Teresa: Princess Grace of Monaco. SHe was beautiful and carried herself through life with grace even through tough circumstances.

Shannon: Cinderella from the real movie years ago.

Kim Klein: Cinderella. No reason why. I always preferred to be a football player, not a princess. I didn't have a princess costume when I was growing up, but I did have a football jersey.

Susanne: Belle. Our Beauty and the Beast DVD is scratched and only plays to the point when Bell goes in the castle to take her daddy's place. I've listened to it over and over with the kids, and I just think she is sweet.

Carrie: Belle. I am a bleeding heart for seeing the good in someone past the point of being reasonable, so I identify with Belle.

Rachel B: Belle. Because she has brown hair and brown eyes. AND because she tames a Beast and what woman doesn't do that?

Rachel S: Princess Adora from Sleeping Beauty. She has always been my favorite from childhood. I love the fairies and the music and everything about the movie.

And my personal favorite is The Princess from the book The Princess and the Pea. I loved that book as a child and fell in love with it again reading it to my children. I just think it is so neat that she was a princess - but it was o.k. with her that noone knew it.

So you wonderful Princess Chicks put on your crown, hold your head high. You are a loved, acccepted, and wonderful daughter of the King! Share with other women and with young girls that they are princesses too because their father is the King of all Kings! Then go forth and serve others with the wealth and riches from the love of your heavenly Father!

"Party Chick"

Oh how I enjoy everthing about our "Behind the Bench" monthly socials. The planning, the decorating, the food, and of course, the actual social. As the ladies begin to arrive...excitement fills the air. We catch up with ones who couldn't join us last month; we make a big deal over newcomers, and we update each other on those not with us this month. So come on you wonderful coach's wife, make plans to join us at the next BTB Social - February 28th.

This year's BTB theme is "God Chicks" taken from Holly Wagner's book, and this month we focused on being a "party chick." Wow, this world has so much turmoil in it, so much filth, so much sadness, so much to deal with...but we decided to not let it keep us from CELEBRATING and living life to the fullest. Of course, Satan would love to kill, steal and destroy each of us, but Christ came so we could have an abundant life!
